In Memory of Oral C. Robbins

Oral C. “O.C.” Robbins, age 90, of McKinney, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford. Born Wednesday, December 17, 1924 in Perry County, he was the son of the late Tobias “Tob” & Dulcena Slone Robbins. His loving wife is Laura Mae Barnett Robbins of McKinney. O.C. was a faithful member of Green River Pentecostal Church, where he played the guitar for many years. He was a US Army WWII Veteran, where he served as a nurse, and worked as a Salesman for Hub Frankel. He also worked was salesman for the National Life Insurance Company, Further he worked at Lincoln Lumber Company, Boyle Lumber Company, and finally at Marcum's Monuments. O.C. was a talented guitar player and songwriter, and loved to drive and take vacations, in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, O.C. leaves behind one brother, Wendell Robbins of Monroe, Ohio; caregivers, Alice & Hershel Carpenter of McKinney; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Ann Robbins Moore; two brothers, Melvin Robbins and Nick Robbins; three sisters, Easter Eversole, Alpha Caldwell, and Pansy Patrick; and two infant siblings, Kelly Robbins and Melissa Robbins.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Green River Pentecostal Church with Bro. Rick Naylor officiating the service.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00PM Monday, March 2, 2015 at Buffalo Springs Cemetery with Full Honors performed by the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Hershel Carpenter, Johnny Mack Brown, Shelba Lee Moore, Kenneth Robbins, Roger Robbins, and Wayne Robbins will serve as Active Pallbearers.

Pauline Moore, Verna Robinson, Linda Walls, Judy Derringer, Vivian Luttrell, Kenneth & Debbie Long, Alphas Yocum, Danny Gilliam, Lester Carpenter, Bill Walls, Joe Griffin, and Ronald & Bonnie McWhorter will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Visitation will be held 5-9PM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the church. A Second Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the church.

The family would like to thank the Golden Living Center Staff for their excellent care they gave to O.C. the 2 ½ years he stayed there until his passing.
